How do I tell what year my Wilton C1 was made?

Ask it what year it was born?

Pics and any info as to numbers and markings would help.

Is there a book of vices and other blacksmith equipment, similar to Anvils in America? That would be an interesting one to have.

I have had a C2 and three C3 's and there are some diffrences in the new and old ones, however I dont think there is any way to pin it down to a manufacture date.. If its a early one the jaw inserts will have bolts that come from the back of the jaw to hold them in place, if its a newish one then the bolts go through the jaw insert and into the jaw
