durban
I have a natural gas forge that I need to convert to propane. Hw do you do that? What's involved? What parts do I need to add?
oakwoodforge
That depends on the forge but in most cases a Different size jet is needed and a differet regulator is used for LP gas . Can you give us a little more info or post a pic of your burners ?
irnsrgn
just take it to or have a propane supplier take a look at it, he will get his chart out and put in the right sized orifices, and tell you what else you need to change.
irnsrgn
I think you did a typo Oak, a smaller jet is needed for propane. remember most natural gas is 8 oz or less. Propane is hotter and under more pressure.
durban
I looked for any kind of ID markings on the forge and couldn't find any that were readable. I'll try taking it to the propane guy. Thanks for your help.
