Well, just wanted to introduce myself and say hi. My name is Weldon and I'm just getting started in this most honored endeavor of shaping the black iron. I'm sitting in with a blacksmith this weekend for 8 hours of instruction into the basics, so I'm as a raw and useless as a persimon in early spring right now. I have volunteered at a local living history museum where I can go in and pound away and practice for free as one of their blacksmiths. Though that's a name/title that I do not deserve at all as of yet. I hope in time that does not remain true.

I will do my best not to ask typical newbie questions and will peruse the old posts. Please have patience with me and I will do my best not to be a nag.
