nuge
This anvil has ears which make it easy to move. Anybody know the purpose?
Iron Clad
I'm not an expert on anvils, but this almost looks like a sawyers anvil to me.
MLMartin
It looks like a cast iron tractor weight to me
Iron Clad
Ah, that's funny, I think your right, it does!
Sam Falzone
Ah, that's funny, I think your right, it does! Ya ... it does, doesn't it. Either way it would make a neat block anvil - good for blades. Sam
njanvilman
I vote for some kind of weight. Definately not made as an anvil, but will probably work as one.
nuge
Thanks. Its pretty handy as a backing block for rivets/tenons on rails and such. Most of the time it serves as a stool for the treadle on my hammer. Always thought it had a portable anvil job as its so "right" to pick up and move. I guess a weight that was frequently moved would have the same design purposes.
Sam Thompson
That looks a bit like an International Harvester logo on the RHS.
