Ed Steinkirchner
i made this a little over 2 years ago and it was the first knife i made that was very well tempered. (although i think that was just dumb luck) it is made from a 3/8 inch spring washer off of the railroad, hardened in oil. brass bolsters and no glue(didn't use it when i started out). it is a stick tang, just riveted over in the bolster. it doesn't have the best looking fit or polish, but it holds an edge and works very well at what i ask of it. the grip is curly maple (barely) and the scabbard is mainly oak, the throat is cherry heart wood, both from the wood pile, with a leather spacer between. Black Maple Forge
It looks good. I like the design on the scabbard a lot, too. :D
Chris Waldon
The woodwork on the sheath is very well done. I'm working on a broken-back saxe right now. I hope it turns out this well.
