Hello to all out there. I am new into blacksmithing and at this time getting a forge together. Just bought a beginner anvil at Harbor Freight the other nite and am currently workin on making a bending tool for the hardy hole. Need to find a hand crank blower and some tools. I feel so lucky to have found you and I know I will learn a lot from this site.

fish, Welcome, The 55lb HF really isn't much. Get the iron as hot as you can and don't
miss. Also not too big a hammer. Anvil is cast iron no matter what the box says. Hit it with your hammer or hit less than yellow heat it will dent/chip.

Fish, Welcome glad to have you. Is there a club in your area that you can get involved with, if you don't know look at the ABANA web site under affilate members to find out. There isn't one blacksmith I haven't talked to that won't help you out, all a bunch of good people.
