I fi mix some boric acid crystals with borax, would that help or make it worse? Rich Hale Posted November 11, 2009 Share Posted November 11, 2009 A lot of thing influence that process. When I weld nickel into a billet I use plain twenty mule team borax. Your best bet is to learn to weld in a can. There has been a lot written on that and the search engine on here or google knows the locations. After the initial weld goes well you can draw the billet out and cut restack. If in this process you get two layers or parts of two layers together you will have trouble.
