August 7, 200619 yr first off i want to say i'm sorry to all the good bladesmiths out there who are shaking thier heads saying "what has this world come to, dark evil blue daggers! yea right." so i'm sorry. i don't normaly make this kind of evil weapon, it was just a strange day. alright now to the specs, the large one is 25 inches long, 1/4 inch thick, and weighs about 3 pounds, it has a face of a raven cut into it. the small one is 9 inches long, with a twisted tang, and it is 1/8 inch think, it has a sheath but it is not pictured. well i hope you like!
August 7, 200619 yr Hey Andrew, I think those are pretty cool man! They look very hmm, well "Orkish" or "Goblinesque " What kind of steel did you use? Any chance you can post a closeup detail shot? Jens
August 7, 200619 yr I second the close up and detailed shots of the knives. the handles are very interesting. I like 'em.
August 9, 200619 yr Author this is a bit of a better picture of the two, http://forums.swordforum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=69765 hope that gives you a bit more detail.
August 10, 200619 yr Author technicaly its called "bluing" but i think i took it a bit too far and accidentally tempered the outside layer of metal. but, it looks cool. and i think it's still durable. hhmm i havn't really put this one into a race catagory, it sorta looks elven, but yet the scratchy sort of ravenish drawing looks rather mordor orcish, so i think it's all about what the user makes it. thanks for the comments!
August 10, 200619 yr Author so anyone have any suggestions on how to improve technique, or how to make it better?
August 10, 200619 yr You could inlay the designs into the blades themsleves, like made out of silver wire maybe. Smoothing the edges on the handles would make it more comfortable too.
