keykeeper Posted September 6, 2009 Share Posted September 6, 2009 Can anyone identify this anvil for a friend of mine from another forum. We surmise it is of British origin, as he is in Australia. We also surmise the weight to be about 168 lbs due to the 1 1/2 marking on the side. He would like to know the manufacturer, if possible. Thanks in advance. From the looks of the markings I would say that it is a cast iron body with a steel face, but that is just guessing from the pictures. I can see what is a line at the bottom of the face. I agree that is British origin but no idea who made it. There were tons of anvil makers over there, kinda like the 'helpy selfy' gas station here in the state! one on every street corner!
