Dave M
I just got an awsome deal on CL. 1 roll of durablanket in an unused box for $15.00 plus a 4'x8' sheet of 16 gauge $15.00 also, but enough bragging. The box only says dura blanket there is no weight marked on it or heat rating. it is 1 inch thick. Is there any way to tell or find out what it is. I was going to double it up to line a new forge I am building. Any help would be awsome.
pkrankow
At that price, I would buy both and deal with it. There is a density listed somewhere on the mfg's website, so you can weigh it on a good scale, and then divide by the actual square footage. If it is a mfg package, then the label might be on it. There are different temperature grades, and I don't know how to tell them apart other than if it is labeled. HURRY IT WON'T STAY LISTED LONG. Ceramics people and glass artists use this stuff too.
