1911a1forlife Posted June 9, 2009 Share Posted June 9, 2009 hello everyone This is a knife I made 6 years ago for my friends dad who was a U.D.T. veteran also known as a "frogman" during vietnam. He had the shorter knife made while he was stationed for a few weeks in the philippines by a native. He used his knife througout the war and after the war whenever he went camping, so he wanted me to make one similar to it because he loved the design, but with a longer blade and a sharpening stone added to the sheath. I forged the knife from a leaf spring. The blade length is 10", overall length is 15-1/2" long. I made the sheath from tooling leather with an arkansas sharpening stone that is 4"Lx1-1/2"Wx3/8"T, I never liked the smaller sharpening stones especially with a knife with a long blade.
