Hi
I've been reading contributions to this forum for a few weeks now and I have to say - it's terrific. I haven't started blacksmithing yet but have been quietly, lest the Treasurer catch me, collecting bits and pieces to set up, ultimately for retirement.
I just acquired a nice little home made forge with a Buffalo 200 Silent blower. It's missing the stabilising leg/attachment. I have rigged up a temporary leg (see photo) but I wondered if anyone has one with the original attachment. I'm a bit of a traditionalist and would like to return it to original if possible. If anyone can help with a photo it would be appreciated.

I'm in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia and hope to get started as soon as I can pick up a suitable anvil. Good used anvils, at the right price, are a bit scarce in these parts.

Jay Leno showed an ad once for an Australian translator! Heck, I know Australian! G’day! At’s hole rite, mite! Put a few shrimp on the barby! Good on ya!

Just think: That blower may have been on a sailing vessel 100 years ago!

Welcome, mate! Grant

Welcome aboard, glad to have ya.

Being on the far side of the planet, sadly I probably won't be much help with the blower leg.

However, if you'll click "User CP" at the top of the page and edit your profile to show your location it can make a big difference. IFI is represented by members from more than 50 countries and a lot of info is location specific. Also if local folk know you're there they can invite you to gatherings, tip you to tool deals and offer hands on help.
