  1. Hello all . I have a 10 by 20 shed multi purpose machine shop/ carpenter/ Blacksmith shop. Have forge and anvil in a permanent location and the rest is moved when I need it. Heated with a wood stove . Want to build a more traditional shop next year . Wood floor covered with sheet meatal for blacksmithing and welding. Keeps me sane .
  2. About 15 years ago I worked Kings Landing,a living historical Museum and was very lucky to play the part of the village blacksmith. Working there I met this old fella, Gordon who was the village carpenter, and also sold antique tools , I purchased a small blower from him and had that in my work shop since last year behind the wood stove. Last winter I built my forge from a brake drum and have been learning this most rewarding craft ever since.
  3. I just purchased a portable forge a fairly big one made by the Canadian blower manufacturing company. Question is are these forges suppose to have a hood on them for the smoke. I want to install this in shop and if I can waht is the best material tu use to build a hood.
  4. Just wanted to say high from Canada. Getting ready to fire up my first forge as soon as my coal comes in..Eager to learn lots of info..
