    Blacksmithsdepot has 4140 die blanks for $30. It's just an 8" piece of 3/4" thick, 2" wide 4140 that you shape to whatever die you need and heat treat. Bought myself 2 of 'em a while back to make my own guillotine tool...have yet to finish it, but I have the dies!
