    Posting pics of my forge build.  Any feedback would be great! Having a hard time getting metal up to temp currently.

      You don't need the whole back end open to heat longer stock, only a hole a bit larger than the stock and you can cover that when not in use. I still think that a chimney or vent is good to reduce the "dragon's breath" coming out in your face.
