Former industrial maintenance mechanic, once upon a time pressure vessel certified with tig and stick.  Have made several knife shaped objects, some forged with a rosebud for heat, mostly stock removal. Spent many years driving a big truck after a nasty divorce.  On the disabled list now and looking for something to keep my mind and hands busy. Studying forge construction right now in order to build a serviceable PID controlled forge.  Would really enjoy being able to visit any blacksmiths or knifemakers nearby and learn as much as I can from them. Kind of hope to do some pattern welding some day but I do realize I have a long way to go before I tackle that. But it is a long term goal.
