    At this time I share you a hammer hawk, this is for a friend´s father. He just want the hawk and the sheath he think make the handle.

    - Over all length: 16 cms.
    - cutting part length: 5.3 cms
    - differential quench in hammer an edge.
    - Steel: O1

  2. I'm doing well Jose, thank you. The weather's been fine, high 50s and starting to hit the 60s. I know it doesn't sound particularly warm to you but it's a glorious spring here in Alaska. A couple friends are coming over Saturday, I've been showing them blacksmithing and they trade help around here for it.

    Heck, I'm thinking I may weld up a billet while the guys work on learning projects. I've been thinking of making a blade, it's not something I do often but sharp pointy things are so cool. <grin>

    Okay, enough hijacking the thread. Jose, that is a stunning knife! I really like it. Both of my children came by the screen and had to stop and comment on its beauty.

    Nice to be here.

    Folks this is my last one work, it´s a bowie style knife; it was a old file from my shop (I have some more ha ha ha).

    over all length: 23 cms
    blade length: 12 cms
    blade steel: file steel w1
    handle materials: brass, micarta, cocobolo wood, stainless steel, alpaca, and other wood (i can not remember the name)
    sheath: natural leather. hand stitching.

  6. Thanks Jose, I knew I got it wrong as soon as I saw it. Sometimes I wonder how I could've grown up with so many Mexican friends and not picked up more Spanish than it takes to order a meal or get in a fight. Oh yeah, order another cervesa.

    Here are my lastone puukko and little skinner.

    Puukko:

    overall length: .....16.6 cms
    blade steel: ..........SAE 5160
    Handle materials:..brass, barcino wood, amber micarta, mule deer antler and stainless steel.

    Little skinner:


    overall length: ..... 14.5 cms
    blade steel: ..........forge welding SAE 5160 and 1018. down (edge) 5160, up (1018). This is not san mai is up and down
    Handle materials:..brass, ironwood.

    I want to share with you my lastone san-mai droppoit and puukko I forged.

    * san mai:
    -steel: 5160 and 1018
    -Handle materia: brass, micarta, cocobolo wood and white tail deer antler.
    -sheath materials: natural leather and rattle snake skin (hand stitching).


    *puukko:
    -steel: 5160
    -quench: diferential quench
    -handle materials: brass, mule deer antler, micarta and cocobolo wood.
    sheath: natural leather (hand stitching).

  11. Do I say bueno! Or Bonita! The knife has good lines and the sheath is very functional and nice looking. The handle is very pretty.
