By power hammer i literately meant a powerful hammer type instrument that moves metal quicker than my poor poor arm!

The log splitter i have in mind is 4 ton is that enough
what sort of stuff could it do with that amount of power? -

i was wondering if it was possible to convert a log spliter into a sort of power hammer / press thing.
i am sure people must have done it before but i wanted to know if it is a good idea and if any of you has done that could it be possible to tell me the easiest way possible.

eddy martiz who was my instructor in farrier school and always would help me forge shoes and other peices......we forged almost anything we could and we had anice shop.......after class everybody left to go party and i stayed with another fellow named john luse and we had a blast and learned alot of forgeing skill!.............and billy cruthers from wales a true master

made a nice pony roadster and was right at the point of pritcheling out the wholesafter i had fullerd............well i guess it was just a bad day went to cool my pritchel in the hoof packing and droped it in water..........bad deal with s7

While I was forging yesterday i realised that the goo that sticking to my metal was actually from the bricks that surround my fire.

p.s i probably should have said that i had a brick forge at first because i don't have the resources to weld or grind. -
I'm in north norfolk and i use exactly the same coke as our local blacksmith!

Hi i havent really posted anything yet but i thought you guys might help me find out what type of anvil this is.
It's was my great grand-father's anvil.
We think it's a french type anvil but we don't really know.
We don't know the age either ; any idea?

my forge is some cinder blocks that support 1 paving slab and 1 concrete slab on top of the slab i have a piece of steel plate and on top of that i have an array of bricks that can never be positiond to work perfectly the bricks also melt but oh well thats life just gotta keep trying out new ideas
