If the horn was a critter’s face and the heel was the back of its head and described as a biologist or MD would, then the serial number was on the Right Front foot.

Reminder -- Hydrogen gas is released. Poor ventilation + unclipping a "sparking" electrode = BOOM, which could be deafening. Disconnect the charger first.

On some post vises, I've seen 2 opposing wedges (rather than a single wedge) to tighten the vise and top mounting bracket.

I clamped the empty bottle under the weight of a 15 ton crawler loader bucket and used a 4 ft cheater on the wrench and it came right out. .

Sycamore has interlocking grain, which makes it difficult to split. Flat-sawn boards are prone to twist. But, as a big block, sycamore is a very good wooden base.

Integral bolt-down lugs, maybe a "50" cast into the r. front foot -- looks like a Fisher. Good luck.
