  3. I just bought a vulcan anvil with the trademark on it. It is very large, 1 foot high and 25 1/2 inches long at the top, and has the no 80 on the right side. Way too heavy for me to pick up and put on a scale. It the 80 a model no that might tell the weight?

hi, I live in NE Texas and a month ago a man at a large area flea market tried to teach how to buy anvils. I bought my first yesterday and am trying to learn somethng about it. It has the vulcan hallmark on the side, is quite large and has the no 20 on the right side. I think the condition is very good. Would the no 20 indicate the model no and how many pounds it is? It seems way too big to only weigh 20 pounds.Any nformation as to age, pounds and value would be helpful.. or a suggestion where to go learn more about it. Judy
  5. I just joined and live in NE, Texas. Last month a man at a large area flea market tried to teach me something about buying anvils and I bought one yesterday and am trying to learn more about it. It has the Vulcan hallmark and has an 20 on the bottom of the right side. I need to know how many pounds it is if the 20 will tell that. It is quite large and definitely more than 20 lbs. Any info would be a big help. Judy I found one on eBay that is a 100 lb vulcan with a ten on the side. I emailed the guy who had it listed and he said the vulcan with the 20 was a 200 lb anvil as I thought.
