  1. That's where I went, seemed no one wanted to help and didn't want to talk much.
  2. I am from Fayetteville, Al, my problem is I work on Saturdays, so I can't make most of the meetings in Alabama.
  3. I'm going to check with Moore coal and see how there stuff burns. I tried the Alabama forge council that meets at tannehill state park, no one there would help, they all had coal but didn't know where to get it. They seemed to be a little click of friends that could care less on helping me or anyone new wanting to find anvil's, tools, or anything to help get into the blacksmithing trade. I will never waste my time and money to go up there again. I will just stick to getting things done on my own, and learning from YouTube like I have been.
  4. Hello, I am Ashley Brannen, I have just started on my quest to do some blacksmithing. I just completed my forge build, and have built myself a fire poker to maintain my fire. Very important!!! I bought me a 55# anvil from harbor freight, it's cast iron, and it's soft, but it does the job for now, I also picked up a 4# sledge, and a cross peen. Biggest thing I want to do is learn from others, find a good anvil 100#-150# would probably do good, steel of course. And a connection on blacksmith coke, and maybe some hammers and tongs. I am planning on going to the Vulcan forge meet on Sunday to get some knowledge, connection with equipment, and meet some cool people I'm sure!!! Get it while it's hot!!!
