  1. you could save yourself alot of headache and trouble and buy a big blu hammer compressor combo for a reasonable price. According to one or our sources, you work for BB, you have been warned about IFIs advertising policy, and since BB refuses to pay for this advertising you keep cramming down peoples throats, you are now gone.
  2. pay to advertise?? what do you mean glen. I am only giving my two cents like everyone else on this site. What a surprise, according to a person we know there at BB, you are an employee of theirs. We do not tolerate BS well here
  3. divermike...Big blu makes some quality hammers..you could have one in your stocking by christmass.
  4. I was fortunate enough to be able to take advantage of a tool rental program offered by my local blacksmith group(MABA). I don't know if these still exist. to me it was a great way to get started.
  5. JACK HAMMR no those are different hammers..go to blacksmith journal web site and enter the store. those are the hammers I am talking about. they look a bit different.
  6. I recieved a post card advertisement for blacksmith journal yesterday featuring Jackpine forging hammers. for a fraction of the price of the BB hammer. anyone know about these hammers?..Quality? Balance?Service?[
  7. hey chris.. no slams here . just an observation. We have removed much of this posters BB spam, and banned the account. It is sad when someone has to resort to this kind of poly to get attention
  8. I saw the iron kiss hammer in its art-deco styling at quad state a couple years ago crushing aluminum cans. Its a pretty expensive can crusher.
  9. the shop I work in has a table designated to laying out long runs of rail.. we call it the railing table and it is made of steel. we usually use silver pencil , keep it sharp or your demensions will change.
  10. Are the cast Hoffi hammers the same price as the forged ones?
  11. Hey BSing I just found you on the site..I live in hickory also..

  12. the KA and the Big Blu are both very nice machines. If you are looking at doing a lot of forging I would recommend the Big Blu. They offer a variety of dies for doing all kinds of work and are very easy to change. They also offer classes on how use the Big Blu to its fullest potential. Check out their web site.
  13. Hey windknot..welcom to the club. I used to live in grand rapids and i am still a member of the michigan blacksmiths association. if you haven't already..you should check them out.
