I don't think we've met since I've only been in Anchorage this whole time. Really excited for the january 18th though

Hey guys, wish I could have made that meeting back in october. Things weren't as smooth in the move as I would have liked it to be, but everything worked out fine! Any info on when the next meeting will be?

It was 7 layers using band saw blade and steel. The instructer chose it I just worked it. It was folded 3 times, and I think I'm going to try my hand at making a few knives before I try grinding this down into a blade.

As soon as I figure out how to get them on here they'll be up lol. I actually just spent today learning how to make Damascus billets. Me and the person I was learning with managed to finish two in the 8 hour class.

Hey guys, I'm currently living in New York and have just started smithing. I'm currently involved with the New York State Designer Blacksmith Artists, but I'm planning on moving to Anchorage in October. I was wondering if there were any monthly meetings near the city, or what can be available for a beginer to go to to rack up some experience. Thanks for your time!

I'm just starting to look into getting into smithing, and have started looking around for a way to get started. I figured a good place to get advice would be on a forum. I'm located in NY by Syracuse and would appreaciate any tips on how to get started as I am currently very excited to get into the craft!
