I loved the one about the guy worrying about his pig burning in thirty seconds! The other guy is toast by now and it didn't take thirty seconds!

Back in the seventy's I drove from North Dallas to Birmingham to buy some coke. When the loader told me that was a half ton and did I want more loaded onto my 1/2 ton chevy I begged him to stop! I don't think I paid more than $100.00 for it. I had never used coke before. Little hard to light but it worked good.

My father used to move houses.  He told me about one they couldn't jack. The two story walls were filled with sand! You will need to do a very good foundation. Off topic question for you. Do you have a brother named Kevin Lutes here in the Dallas area working in aviation? I used to work with him.

Gave up on rebar real quick, got tired of mashing in the bumps. Round stock is worth the price.

 When I lived in an apartment I bought a coal farriers forge and kept it chained in my pickup. The anvil on the floor boards.  Then I found an out of the way vacant street in a new housing area. Some times would go out in the country  on a fairly deserted road. Only had one cop stop by but no hassle. It can be done I did it for a year. Still have the forge just need a 12Volt charger for the blower.

CO gave me a three day headache I promised myself to never repeat  again.

WOW  I didn't know Millers Falls made tools like that! On the hunt now!

Mine is shaped like the letter "S" or "N" from a piece of round stock lots of air flow and easy to pick out the clinker.

I would enjoy seeing this in person. I have always liked his "imperfect" scrolls. So many of us try to make things look machine made and perfectly matching when it doesn't need that look. The collar work is amazing!

The last knife I made was from a cracked chevy differential bearing from my brother's welding rig. The knife ended up in his sock drawer. That was over twenty years ago. Good non-corroding material. The hard part was drilling the holes to pin on the handle. Ornamental work tends to stay more visible.

Most people wished their anvil was in that good of condition! Good deal!

5 gallon buckets and they can be stacked for more garage space. That's how I keep mine.
