really love this piece Ian what did you form the face over?
If this is the maquette i would love to see the full size sculpture. in fact if you need assistance i am available!! Have you seen the sculptural face at Bedes World in Jarrow? It is amazing, and i think it is made from fine firescreen mesh.
Good work bud. -

Hi Sue, i think there is a blacksmith in Holland Called Willem Jonkers just google the name i am sure you will find him. If you have any problems let me know and i will look through the BABA handbook and find some details

Yes it is. It is called Frosterly Marble. It is quarried at a town called Frosterly Near County Durham. At present they just crush it for road chippings. The guy that i worked alongside, Keith Murray, did all the carving and polishing. He is now working in the quarry doing some amazing work with huge chunks of the stone. I think his web address is Keith Stuart Murray Gallery if you cannot find it i will try and get the address for you if you are interested.

Yes i worked with Brian for 3 years. I left about 4 years ago to become self employed. He is an awesome smith and i am honored to call him a friend.
Do you Know Brian at all? Have you worked for him? -

Hello Uri
Many thanks for you comments they are very appreciated. Hope you are well. We did meet briefly at Ironbridge, I know we were both very busy with our panels for the friendship Pillar. I must say i did like your piece very much, unfortunately i missed your talk, which i really was looking forward to. It was a very hectic weekend, But one i will remember forever.
I was at Terry clarkes workshop recently to do some final touches to the panels and to the pillar, it is looking very good and should be going to Liverpool towards the end of the year for the European city of culture celebrations.
Will you be coming to England at all this year? hope to meet you again soon. All the very best Adrian. -
You are so right and i will have one or even two beers on you !!

Very nice piece Ian, is it big enough to sit on? Really loving the flowing tentacles. I can imagine this as a base for a bench or table (been working on designs for these at the moment so my head is full of them!!!!)
