  1. I was looking through some old posts and I want to make sure I understand this right. A side-draft hood works better than an overhead hood-- is that right? :?:
  2. Glenn, Excuse me if I'm sticking my nose in where it doesn't belong, but there are only a few Forum sites I frequent and one of the the biggest reasons I keep coming back is because of the GREAT job people like you are doing to keep them "family" sites as well as having great information while I'm still able to joke around a bit and have a good time. Thank you for a job EXTREMELY well done!!!
  3. I need a spark guard(the front guard that swivels up) for my Dewalt DW870 chop saw. I thought if someone had an old saw that cratered, I could buy the guard from them . Thanx.
  4. JWB, LOL!! My wife, Jo, pointed out that your best gal must think you're great. She married you, didn't she? Maybe we should just put the women on here and let THEM conspire........... Well, maybe not.
  5. That's just what I was looking for! Those pictures are as good as plans. Thanks, JWB!! You're Awesome!!
  6. Hi Guys, Has anyone ever built a shop press using a hydraulic jack? I'm looking for plans for one. Thanx.
  7. Hi Everyone, I'm new to blacksmithing, but have done a little forge work. I have a complete mobile blacksmith set-up and I just got a new permanent forge and hood made for my shop. I have lots of hammers, tongs, three post vises, two anvils, and a post drill as well as bending and cutting hardies I've made. And tools I used before blacksmithing like a welder,an acetylene set, a grinder, a drill press, bench vise. I hope to get my shop forge set up set up in the next couple weeks as well as my wood stove in my shop so I can start working all winter in the shop. I really hope to have a good time here and learn a lot from you guys who know your way around 'smithing. I've already gained some great info here. I live in very northern North Dakota and besides blacksmithing, like flyfishing, playing my banjo and mandolin, Indian and Mountain man history , ham radio, and just messing around on my 10 acres with my wife, Jo. I'm a retired AF electronics technician and now I drive a semi on day-trips and local area delivering roof and floor trusses for a local truss manufacturer. Hope to talk to all of you much.
  8. I went back and looked at those. You're right, the holes ARE square. Looks like these are what I'm looking for. Also, I knew about the plans for a header on Anvilfire, but the thing that keeps me from building that one is the $62 + shipping I would have to spend to order a square punch. Thans for the info, guys. I think you've gotten me what I need.
  9. I found Rob Gunter, but couldn't find where he had anything for sale and Ozark School sells round nail headers. I'll take that if I have to, but I'd rather have a square one. Thank you much for the info though.
  10. Hi Guys, Does anyone know where I can buy or how to make a nail header for 1/4" square nails?
