How do you get customers?
This is how I do it. I first make a brouchure that shows my work and a short biography. I visit galleries, decorators, architects, builders, and homeowners trying to expose them to my craft. If I get an interview I will direct them to my web site for a more extensive look at my work. I usually want to carry a small hand forged item with me just to leave behind somewhere. Remember that their first impression of you will be with them when you leave.
I agree with Mark about the speculative items for galleries. Galleries can be a good venue but they are really stepping stones for us to reach the higher end commissions.
I try to get exposure from magazines and any other periodicals that feature artists.
I try and do a couple of shows each year.
I support local art associations and enter art shows that offers prize money. ( never know)
We must be creative in marketing ourselves. If people start using you it is because they like you as well as your work.

I would be glad to go in on an order for the hammer handle adhesive. I have been using a product that is used for padding for a horses hoof and have had good results. Count me in for 2 tubes.

A humble thought: We deserve our choices -
Does anyone know where I can get a replacement for a champion fan motor controller. The controller has a ceramic plate inside that has points where the handle slides across for speed control. This ceramic plate is what I need to replace. After talking with several suppliers the cost of a new speed controller is 200.00 for 230 volt motor.

If anyone knows or has had this problem solved with a kuhn or another off brand air hammer, I would appreciate any help with resolving this problem.
