Had these around for quiet some time. They are 6-8 inches long and about 1 1/2 inches wide. Not sure of the carbon content but I will do some tests on one. Any ideas of what to do with them would be great.

I am trying to identify what kind of metal this is. 

A good boy thats a blacksmith would get a ton of coal. If they use a coal forge. lol

i think i have found a design.

i found this old brake drum out back and i was wondering if it is too big to build a forge in. its about 16 inches in diameter and a foot deep. I can always cut it down if need be, but i don't want to do that if i don't have to. I will try posting a picture as soon as i can. Any help guys?
