  1. Hey I was just trying to find out if there were any hammer in's going on in the washington or idaho area this month or the next, theres not to many blacksmiths up in this area, and been looking for a little bit of good learning. If anyone knows of anything going on let me know thanks.

  2. Well thanks for all the advice guys, the demo went great I made a lot of old style screw drivers and spoons during the demo for people to see. They loved it, very good turn out.

  3. How about trying to make on of them, I usually do because I look at the prices and say wow I can make one for cheaper than that. Besides making your own tools adds a whole new cool facter to every thing.

I like your stricker designe it works, I usually use strut springs off of cars for my strickers but that hay rake idea is even better. Thanks for the great ideas. 5. Wow if any one wants to be a great demostrater just read Mike Amelings book on how to do demos. That is the info I have been looking for, I really like the leaf keychain idea. I had people oooing and ahhing over my horseshoe knife I made last year it was very easy and quick to make. I will make me a leaf swag, what would be a good way to do that, being ive never used a metal swag and im still figuring things out here. Thanks for the great info Mike that is some good stuff you told me. Thanks.

  7. I have made countless numbers of mail corras's and coifs and most of them were the customers preferance on how much they wanted to spend, so most were butted. Drawing out one end and threading it though the other in the best way and very historicaly accurate and it looks really cool. Been making armor for about ten years now so if you got any other questions just ask.

  8. I was very suprised it did. I took about 4 feet of it and dubled it and then dubled that and so forth all the while twisting untill I got a piece about a 1'' in diameter and then I started to weld. It welded very easily. I got the blade shaped were I wanted it and heated it to the right temp and dipped it in oil 4 times reheating it every time and then I tempered it in the oven and it turned out really good , very suprised.

  9. Just in the experimental mode right now just got done with quenching it in oil a couple of times letting it cool. Just need temper it and give it a nice long acid bathe and we will see.
