attach the leather belts in either direction, so one gets wound while the other gets unwound. There is a one-way sprag unit that needs oiling inside the mechanism. -

before dissasembly pic. *NOTE* It is always best to take photos of the 'before' so you know how to reassemble, when there are no instructions to be had. -

there was 1 blade left out of 6. Used old casing from a CD-rom drives for materials to make 6 new blades with. Blades are held with 8-32 screws. -

The remaining fan blade was removed by carefully grinding away the heads of the rivets. Used this blade as a pattern to make 6 new ones. -

the halves were still bolted together, and broken when I got it. Must have had water in it that froze during one of Michigan's winters. -

Forge base is 24 x 36; cast iron. legs are pipe.

It followed me home, can I keep it? I'd have to say that half the stuff in my 'collection' was accumulated that way. The leg vise came from a field near the old house in Detroit, [free], and the No.15 Vulcan anvil cost me $50 while looking at used chairs, at the 'new' house. The agreement with the wife is, I can keep it, if it stays in the garage. The trucks stay outside.

I consider it one of my hobbies. Haven't thought of trying to sell anything, just make gifts, needed items, and trinkets. Otherwise, it's a self-taught anger management class, use when necessary.
