  1. I think making your own hammer is awsome. I don't think I would have a problem making one ,knowing what I know and have done before. but making the punch is gonna kick my tail. cannot get my head wrapped atound the shape to make one. put in a lot of handle over the years so the eye shape I know. gonna have to get aut and start beating one out to fit an old hammer I guess

  2. I spotted those shoes too.I was cutting out an old bin a few yrs ago,the job I had at the time I wore high top rubber boots,with britches tucked in.

    Ya'll can see where this is goin right? have you ever cut shure nuff rusty metal? on a ladder? with open top tight fittin boots?

  3. Dale I junked out my old dodge pickup a while bac,it was an 84 modle half ton before I hauled it off I pulled the rear brake drum off,good and deep

    should work as good as a  rotor.the forge I am building now I used an automobile torque convertor.these things are at least 3/16 thick

    should last as long as I will

  4. well,here it is nearly Christmas an I still don't have this thing done! still not found a crank blower that is priced in  my ballpark yet

    to dang dry to dig for clay around here  but hope to get out this week an get clay for the torque convertor,then I can mix up some portland for the

    restgotta get a fire built under me before I can get to heat an beat.Ya'll have a good and safe Christmas

  5. most places that have semi trailers have their own mechanics.trailer springs are real easy  come by at these shops .they are at least 1" thick at

    the thickest part. that hammer looks real good.one pic it looks like a shoeing hammer.
