Christmas Present for my Mother
My wife and I made the table for my Mother for Christmas. My wife painted the table top and the rest I did. She is very happy with it. We were looking for a while to buy a bistro table but could not find a good one for sale. So my wife said "lets just build one", turned out to be a great idea! Merry Christmas!

Hydraulic pressure is equal pressure in all directions, so as long as you put the relief valve on the high pressure side, it really doesn't matter where it is. In my experience tephlon tape is only good for water and air lines, but I never said I knew everything :)

Need advice on table legs
Hello, I am making some table legs and with the bottom part a ball shape. I spent a lot of time heating the ends and striking the bar onto a flat metal surface on the ground, It worked somewhat but part of the problem is I use a gas forge so when I heat the end of the bar it heats about the bottom 4-5 inches and when I try to fatten up the end, the bar bends. So I got an idea of sticking it in a vise, leaving about 2 inches out and beating the crap out of it. It worked but I'm not sure that was the best way and the results don't look as good as I had envisioned. Any advise on how to fatten the ends of the bar enough to have a good amount of material to make it into a ball? Also when I put the twists in I noticed the twist closest to the vise looks tighter than the twist where I had my wrench. Any advise on how to fix that? I attached some pictures to help explain. Thanks in advance!

I used to work on hydraulic test stands in the Air Force. With the bang sound, I would think you should be able to visually see where a line ruptered or something like that. Usually the hydraulics have o-rings at the connection point. If you don't see a ruptered line or something similar check the O-ring at the conection. When you put the lines back together don't use tephlon tape, hydraulic fliuid makes it a gummy mess.

Anyone read this book
I bought it, read it, and made a forge from the instructions in it. I thought it was well worth the money. You might be able to find some of the same information on the net, depending on what you want it for. I like having a book to refer too as opposed to going to a website.

My first sword (in progress)
I bought a sword kit from Halberds over on the Armor Archive a year or so ago. The kit included the profile of the blade, crosspiece, and pommel which was all cut out. I had plans on doing a stock removal method but never got around to it. Then I made a forge and acquired an anvil and tools and since I am having fun forging things I decided to try a blade. I
