I am a purist, my shop has no tools more advanced than that of a 2012 era blacksmith shop ;)
-
Oh, sorry I didn't reply soon, http://monkeymitch351.deviantart.com/ is me :)
-
Very cool. (Hey, you're Iron-eye on deviantart, aren't you!)
-
Very cool stuff for the garden, I love that one in the second photo!
Pretty nice candle holders as well. -
I can imagine that in a fancy restaurant, very nice!
-
Very cool!
-
Oooh, that's really nice. You should put it on everything you make as a maker's mark :)
-
Great work. What diameter pipe was used here?
-
Those would be beasts cutting up veggies and stuff, nice work!
-
You deserved that award, the banister looks brilliant! Really great job.
-
Neat, looks pretty cool :P
-
Wow! Very nice repair job. Even if it's not the hardest surface now, it sure beats what it looked like before :D
-
Just out of curiosity, why don't you want to weld it?
-
Love that goat! Very cool.
-
Great tutorial, I have got to try that one day.
That's 1/2" square, right? -
That last part about bending over the face of the anvil (RR track) might have been confusing. Take a look at this video, about 50 seconds in, that's what I'm talking about.
I haven't tried making S hooks this way, but I don't see why you can't :D -
Yeah, bend the S hooks over the horn, or if you're using railroad track, hit over the edge to bend it, then flip it around and hammer it into a hook. Same technique for forging scrolls.
Of course, if you have a vise, make a U shape piece of rod and clamp it in the vise, instant bending fork! -
Very good video, perfect for a beginner and I learned a thing or two as well!

I don't worry about mosquitoes where I live, but I have a half wine barrel that I use, and think I need to take steps to stop critters/bacteria/fungi from growing in it. I think I'll add some bleach, will that stop nasties completely?
By the way, when I bought the barrel, for the first month of using it, the steam from quenching would reek of wine, LOL :) -
Very good, much better than my first lessons. Keep up the good work!
-
Very unique, I love it!
It would actually make a nice pen holder. -
Matt, it does seem to be the same problem that I posted. However, the verdict there was that the water quench I used was the problem, and here it was quenched in oil, which shouldn't cause cracks.
I would say the spring fatigue is a good guess.

Indeed it is theft...
But, why post a video that's almost exactly the same thing? It seems kind of redundant, and putting yourself at risk for no reason. Well, I guess you get views and comments, but for a stolen video it doesn't matter much. -
Hmm, thanks!
I may try some of this one day, maybe pick up some casting sand and give it a go. Sounds fun!
Small smithy plans?
