Hey there Diverjim,
Welcome to IFI. LOts of good info to be learned here from lots of really experienced blacksmiths. Glad to have you here so pull up a stump and sit a spell. There may be a blacksmith guild or group in your area or at least semi close by. In your info you don't say where you are located in NC. I'm in Durants Neck, tween Hertford and Elizabeth City.

I'm just getting started and am short of money. I do not intend to do big projects: mostly leaves, flowers, candlesticks, and stuff of that size. The Cliff Carroll Anvils that are available (125lb) would do and is reasonably priced but I have never touched one. Are they any good? I live in NC. Thanks
