I usually say one of two things...." LET IT KNOW YOU'RE HITTIN' IT! " ,...and "beat it like it owes you money".

I think if you make nice stuff she likes, you may get more shop time. Fancy kitchen items, a rose, some kind of delicate curly thingy with a tea light candle in it, stuff like that

I too started shoeing horses in the '70s, no gloves, still, no gloves, only for special occasions, for the non hammer hand. Like Frank said...your hands toughen up

I think its time we mentioned that Timothy Miller guy

Rich Waugh did extensive research on this subject, and found it....deltacad, I think its 40 bucks

probably 1085 or 5160

Check this out, my beautiful pine trees are gone,...the sculpture that was beneath them was looking out at me when I started cutting them up

Congratulations, I guess this is the moment when you realize that " no man is good enough"

looking outside so far two forty foot blue spruce trees are down in my driveway, sounds like a freight train out there

Looks like the guy demoing in front of the kids, has his thumb on top so he won't cut it off on the hardy tool,,, :)
Looks like he should have the horn on his right......Ha, Ha, Ha, Haaaaaaaaa -
Dave you have skills, especially for a young'un. I don't think anything you do will surprise me, did you stamp it ?

there is a five foot elevation change from the right front to the left rear. there was no way I could put a slab. I needed about 100 yards of fill to make it level. 5' plus 42" to the frost line = a nine foot wall in the rear, 4' in the front, so far its a monetary nightmare

Hey Tim, I have that exact same small anvil, I cut it off at the top of the ring and it fits in the hardy hole of my 500 pounder (1 1/4 )
its great for small work -
oh...... the slab was from last month

If you were under my tutelage I would suggest a 2 1/2 pound turning hammer ( rounding hammer )....and tongs for 3/8 & 1/2 sq.
( they also hold round stock ) . once you get some hammering under your belt, make tongs for whatever else comes up. -
Hey Sam...try hitting it from the back side for a "2-D" effect.

Very clean job, I like the riveting technique on the grill, probably a real PIA.....but the resulting look is beautiful. Your skills are apparent
-
Nice, even ( level ) looking job,....If you did it all by hand with a hammer, your skills and eye are up there.

How much for an oyster shucker ?

I have #2 wire...three lengths, two are more than long enough, one maybe not. The question is can I splice it when I'm using it to supply the power to my new shop, about a hundred feet to the panel. Or can a junction box be installed out side of the house and connect from there.
