  1. hi everybody, I've just started to get into blacksmithing with my first brake drum forge. Im in my last year of high school at a tech school so i have vast quantity of materials and machines at my disposal. The legs are 1/2 inch steel threaded with bolts supporting a 2 inch flange. The coupling was machined to accept the diameter of the fan outlet. The motor is the exaust fan off a high efficiency furnace with a light dimmer wired in to save charcoal, which it eats up anyway.
  2. I second the breathing idea. I use breathing techniques in my line of work which often includes "high" stress enviroments. The 4 count can be played with depending on the user. In through the nose, two, three, four. Hold two, three, four. Out through the lips two, three, four. Hold two, three, four.
  3. Hi everyone, Im new to the forum and have just started getting into blacksmithing. Right now im working on setting up my own shop, Brake drum forge etc. I've been able to find a nice foot and a half long peice of streetcar track, I plan to mount the track horizontally on a stump, but would it be possible to drill or even torch through the metal to get 4 bolts through? thanks, p.s I have access to a fair bit of machinery, so that won't be a problem
