  4. so after 2 heart attacks in the last 5 yrs.and 7 stents later the dr. keeps tell me to walk every day for 30 min. i have done and its borring. so i don't do it every day. well i found out this weekend that forging a knife is just as good as walking those 30 min. if not better. i did not know how hard it was to beat the heck out of a piece of steel to make it look like a knife. i got my work out that day. to tell you the truth it even felt good the rest of the day. as soon as i get pic taker i'll put up some pics. thanks for the help guys. henry

  6. thanks everyone. i just went ahead and did the galvinized 2" worked great. now to start making my 1st rr knife. will do that this weekend. thanks henry

  8. so if i use galvanized it should not make that much of a difference? they do have gavanized at the hardware store. henry
  9. i'm trying to build the air flow part.under the rim. it a rim with a stand and the 2" pipe will be hooked up to a blower to force air under the coals. henry
  10. being new here i have a problem. i've been looking for 2" pipe to build a tire rim forge with 2" black pipe under the rim for my blower to hook up to. lowes and home depot only have 2" galvanized pipe. the best value hardware store has the same thing. is there something else i can use ? thanks henry

    stan i seen your web site , man those are nice. i see you make them from stainless steel. would i follow the same steps to making a knife as with iron or steel? would i use a forge the same way or just cut to shape and go from there? i ask because i have a small pice at the ranch i could start with. should i just start with a small knife out of steel 1st. then move into stainless? thanks henry
