did you try to harden it at all or is it just a show piece? dont know what steel is used with bolts so just curious.

I did try to temper it. May be due to the fact I've tempered it and reheated it several times over the past year. I would work on it when I got the chance. The bolt was from an old rail road track or the boiler that ran through here back in the 20's.
