kennethrduff Posted July 2, 2016 Share Posted July 2, 2016 Bought a Hill anvil 130 pounds, good ring, although it varies from place to place on the surface, and the rebound is good. I only paid 40.00 for it and think I got a steal on a 150+ year old with very few defects. Any comment on the quality of the name or the anvil? The weight code was 1 0 18. the iron dwarf Posted July 2, 2016 Share Posted July 2, 2016 dollars, pounds or yen? tap it lightly all over the face and mark the areas with chalk where it sounds different then post a picture, if it sounds hollow you may have delamination, if it just on the heel it changes it is due to the thickness of metal being less than in the middle.
