SGropp
I need to upgrade to a water cooled Tig torch. Anybody have any recommendations for a water cooler unit? It needs to handle at least 350 amps. The welding power source is a Miller XMT 304. I'm looking for something industrial quality, compact and quiet. ifitsmetal
Have run tig machines with numerous brands of water coolers over the years, Cool Mate, Miller, etc. All did the job and worked well. But some ran so loud that it was quite annoying, might have been the age on them, don't know. The Miller units seemed to be the quietest running of them all. Dragons lair
quietest cooler is to hook up to a water line. No noise and no worries about over heating. Only works well if your welder has a solonoid to turn it on and off. No water in the shop now am using a bernard SS unit.
SGropp
I went with a Miller Coolmate 3. It is just what I was looking for; compact and very quiet, just enough sound to know it's running. I also went with a CK 300V torch with an Amptrac thumb control and 25' Super Flex leads with leather cover. With all connections ,parts , consumables and shipping the whole setup came to about a grand at Central Welding in Burlington ,Wa.
