Pat79Martin
I'm in Elizabeth, CO. After years of wanting to make iron red hot and do something with it, I finally started. Collected miscellaneous "stuff" from the shop and yard and put together a brake drum forge. My current "anvil" is an 18 inch piece of 132 pound rail. I'm watching Craigslist and local ads hoping to find a 125 lb. or so anvil at a good price. My first project is making new wear shoes for an old springtooth cultivator, and repairing the angle iron frame. I built the forge when I found out that the "anvil" isn't heavy enough, and I'm too old and beat up to cold forge 1-1/2"x1-1/2"x1/8" angle from another old piece of farm equipment.
