josho52
I have just got into blacksmithing and after making a few pieces I’d like to try my hand at forge welding. I have a simple twin burner propane forge which is lined with Kaowool and two vermiculite bricks on the bottom. Now the question I’ve read that borax will eat through this setup rapid and I’m just wondering what I can do so I can forge weld. I know solutions aren’t permanent but I imagine most are better than kaowool. I have seen many suggestions but finding them in the uk is seemingly impossible so any suggestions are appreciated! READ THIS FIRST Not knowing where in the world you are, it's hard to give advice on what to get or where to get it. Hence the suggestion to edit your profile to show location.
