Bigmike
Hey yall i bought a anvil and a forge and a few tools but im more intrested in ethe anvil and its history, they guy said it was his fathers and he was 74 years old he remebers his dad beating hot metal on it when he was very young and he remebers turning the handle on the champion modle 40 for his father as a child, he said if i wasnt as intrested as i was he wasnt gonna sell it for the sentimental value not a dollar can touch and we hung out for bit showed me his tools and how everything worked and then he said 700 dollars its yours all of it. I asked why and he said its nice to see some one of your age getting into a dying art you seem like you will take care of it. So i handed him the cash and went from there anyways his story was awsome i love hearing the history about it. That anvil face fed his family for many years so cool now itll stay in my family to keep the history alive. Now The anvil is a kohlswa made in sweden i put it on a bathroom scale 120 pounds exacly. Lil rough on the sides and under the beak but still usable for my standerds the back edge where the pritchel hole has a k or a t stamed on it and the bottom as a 23 stamped on the left bottom foot ill give ya a pic of anvil any history will be greatly appreciated The blower is a champion model 40 it works great missing the top cap where you put the oil in and thats it. Works awsome. The forge is a fairer type rivet forge good condition.
