August 27, 200718 yr a sticking feed on tool post slide caused me to inspect closely and I found a few things not right. Screw retaining gib was not engaged (threaded) and gib was not goin into dove tail all the way pulled the gib and it appears bent can't put the gib inplace and engage the retaining screw and turn the feed. I can send pictures if that would help
August 27, 200718 yr You'll have to either straighten the gib or make a new one. I would probably try to get it close by eye and then either put it on a surface grinder or lap on a surface plate by hand.
August 27, 200718 yr Author lapping away and making progress, I think that the retaining screw got tightened on the gib and I have purchased the lathe in that condition. Any source for spare parts?
