I am a beginner blacksmith, who just got my hands on my first real steel. i would like to sharpen my skills, or begin to have skill I should say. What would be a good project for a beginner blacksmith, that would help with my hammering, or other skills.

Throwing spikes.  Had I thought/known about them when I was starting its a nice way to start and really fun to use.

simple flat tongs

tent spikes.  You can never have to many

I started with lots of s hooks, j hooks,  simple hooks for around the house.  fire tools are always nice to have.
