ecclectic iron Posted July 23, 2013 Share Posted July 23, 2013 Great site guys. I got my first forge given to me when I was 15 in 1988. I tried a few times unsuccessfully to get it set up but my father would use it as a work bench so I just put it back outside and left it. In 1996 after I was divorced and had lots of time and no money I took the forge to my house and set up in my garage. Still unsuccessful I happened to meet some guys from OABA who helped me get it lit. Now I needed an anvil. I took 2 pieces of railway track, flipped one over and welded them together. (I'll post a pick in " Anvils") Eventually moved a few times and couldn't set up again for over 5 years. Last fall bought a 10x14 tin shed and set up shop. Once again learning to smith.
