jay_cat
This is my knife in progress. Just finished hardening. I will temper tonight. I'm planing of a wood handle but might use 550 cord. Not sure yet. Learning as I go. I would be lost without this sight. I know how everyone loves pictures, so I will post more when I finish.
Zanshin
Looks very good so far. Flat bevels? It looks quite thick (I believe 5 mm, from the pics), why didn't you grind full height with this thickness? I think it would be strong enough to handle the full flat grind which has much better cutting properties... I am loving it so far!!! Beautifully strong shape!! jay_cat
I left it thick for a couple reasons. I wanted a EDC that could handle batoning. I didn't want to get to carried away with the belt sander and grind it to high. The third reason is the fear of the blade looking like a piece of bacon after harding. I played it safe with this one. Zanshin
I think they are all good reasons!!! I like the bacon comment!!! I think it will handle batoning just fine. Beautiful work, looking forward to see it finished!!
