neg
I found this neat little anvil at the flea market today. I'm not sure of the weight of it, I don't have a scale handy. I couldn't find anything when searching google for "W.H. Pepper", so I thought I'd see if any of you guys know anything about it. The top to show it's size: http://i49.tinypic.com/r6w9dy.jpg Facing left: http://i47.tinypic.com/2e0s95e.jpg Facing right: http://i45.tinypic.com/2dl25uw.jpg On the top side of it it says very clearly W.H. Pepper: http://i45.tinypic.com/kez380.jpg There seems to be a few letters on the bottom of it. Looks like it starts with a B and ends with a D. Can't make out the letters in the middle: http://i45.tinypic.com/2uqnpz6.jpg
philip in china
What a lovely little paperweight. Don't expect to forge anything very big on that one. I have a similar one by the UK company "Record". It actually is an anvil but they were given away as adverts rather than sold as tools. My sons used to play with mine. neg
I wasn't planning on actually using it, the one I use is a lot bigger. It's just that the mini 'paperweight' anvils I usually see are so much tinier than this one, and this one seems like it's been used a lot, the guy who sold it to me said it was used by a jeweler. I was jut hoping it had some value, or to find out how old it is. but either way I only spent $20 on it.
