Hutch
The building that I am going to use was built in the 1840's with a coal burning fireplace, with a stove flue in the basement. Will this have ample draft for a side-draft forge? The stove pipe is a 4 inch double walled entry plug put in the wall of the fire place (originally it was a 6'' hole lined with tin). The chimney will probably need serious attention to the whole 22' of hight. Is this a lost cause or should I give it a go? Is there any body else who has used a fire place flue for their forge? It seems to me that a flue would be a flue. But then again I have no idea what I'm doing.
