August 19, 201213 yr I just happened upon a hand crank blower at an antique dealer (for a pretty nice price) and was wondering if anyone may be able to help me nail down a model number or any other means of identification. The blower itself has no exterior markings other than "Champion Blower & Forge Co, Lancaster PA, U. S. A." Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
August 19, 201213 yr You answered your own question- it is a Champion blower. Looks like a small one that would have been used on a rivet forge. (Unless you have real big hands)
August 19, 201213 yr Author Right, I was only curious if it had a model number that I may have been missing. I have seen Model 400's and #60a but not this model. The picture from the top down is a bit deceptive. The blower body is about 8" and the outlet is about 1.5-2". If I weren't out of town I would have a tape measure for some more appropriate measurements than just guess work. =)
August 19, 201213 yr I would say it looks like the blower off a small rivet forge as well. I have found that there are very little records on champion just a few adds and catalogs still left in reprint. When I was trying to find information on my power hammer I called champion blower they are still around but when the company was sold none of the old records were passed on.
September 4, 201213 yr VintageMachinery.org is a great resource. Try looking under the information attached to the Champion Blower index http://vintagemachinery.org/mfgindex/detail.aspx?id=165
September 4, 201213 yr You could have saved yourself some time by simply asking me! LOL I don't know much about the company but I can tell you that I have one of these forges. This blower was used on a number of forges that were considered inexpensive and portable. I do not have a manufactures date. I belive these blowers to be from the 1930-40's What you have pictured is the Eureka 140
